Horner’s Corner is the brainchild of two guys who decided to get into the restaurant business: Ivor Bradley, a seasoned veteran and the owner of the Creamery and the Iron Cactus SF, and his partner, Dave O’Donnell. Bar manager Seamus Breslin and Adrian McCaron are bringing their skills to developing a fantastic cocktail selection. Horner’s Corner will also have a fine selection of craft beers on tap.
Our namesake is John Meirs Horner, the man who “invented” Noe Valley in its present form. In 1852, he bought the slice of José Noe’s Rancho San Miguel that became Noe Valley and started to develop it. Horner laid out the present street grid and named the streets in what was then known as “Horner’s Addition.” Elizabeth Street was named for his wife. He named nearby John Street for himself, but the City later renamed it as 22nd Street.
